Tropicana bifocal lenses
As people age, they generally need to get reading glasses in order to see clearly close up. At our optical practice, Glenn Roter, OD, our patients are able to get Tropicana bifocal lenses for both eyeglasses and contact lenses.
Many people do not like to be seen wearing reading glasses, because they feel it gives away information about their age. Reading glasses can also be inconvenient to use, as they need to be put on whenever you want to read something, or see something, close up. Tropicana bifocal lenses take care of this problem as they allow one lens to have two different lens prescriptions in them. Tropicana bifocal lenses come in several different types. Today, people are able to get multifocal contact lenses which have reading glass prescriptions built into them. These are extremely convenient to use. We also offer eyeglasses with traditional bifocal lenses. Many of our patients now prefer to get prescription eyeglasses with progressive lenses in them. Progressive lenses can have several different lens prescriptions in them, however, they do not have any lines of delineation. This means that the lens is perfectly smooth, and no one is able to tell that the lens has more than one lens prescription in it simply by looking at the lens. This means that you can benefit from the use of reading glasses, without actually having to wear them. All you need to do is glance downward, and your eyes will automatically see through the reading lens portion of the progressive lenses. Progressive lenses can be a bit more expensive than traditional bifocal lenses, however they do have several benefits. Progressive lenses not only look more attractive, but they also offer a larger field of vision since the lenses are smooth and continuous, and the eyes can glance through any portion of the lens to benefit from vision correction.

Have you been thinking that it is about time that you had a comprehensive eye exam? If so you will want to make an appointment to visit our fine optometrist at the office of Glenn Roter, OD. Our Tropicana optometry practice has been devoted to protecting and preserving the vision and eye health of our patients for over 15 years.
Our office is located at the Las Vegas Vision Center of Walmart. At our office we offer a wide variety of eye care services including: eye exams; contact lens exams and fittings; and treatment of eye infections and eye diseases. One of the most important services we provide is providing comprehensive eye exams for our patients. Since many eye diseases, like glaucoma, do not present any obvious early symptoms, it is important that these sight-stealing diseases are detected early. Once diagnosis is made, there are generally many things that can be done to keep glaucoma, or other eye diseases, at bay. However, once vision is lost to an eye disease, it is sometimes impossible to regain it. This is the case with glaucoma. So be sure to have vision exams on a regular basis at our Tropicana optometry office.
During a comprehensive eye exam, Dr. Roter will examine many aspects of your vision and eyes. Your visual acuity will be determined so that a prescription can be written if necessary. Many eye diseases will be tested for including: glaucoma; cataracts; diabetic retinopathy; macular degeneration; and others. Early detection of many of these conditions will help prevent future vision loss. Your eyes will be dilated with medical eye drops so that the inside of the eye can be viewed. Any retinal problems will be detected and diagnosed. The surface of the cornea will also be examined for any types of problems or irritations. If you want to get a contact lens prescription, additional tests will be added to make sure that you can comfortably and safely wear contacts. You may be tested for dry eye syndrome. Measurements of the cornea and iris will also be taken to ensure that the contacts will fit your eyes properly. Contact lens prescriptions contain information about how the contacts should be shaped along with vision correction information. If you would like to visit Dr. Roter soon for an eye examination, make an appointment with our office. Take advantage of the excellent Tropicana optometry care our office provides.
